Hermes Oran Sandals: Are They Worth the Money?
I am not much of a summer dresser, but there are some pieces that excite me. Hermes Orans sandals are definitely one of them. I know designer purchases can be difficult to make, which is why I decided to give you an in-depth review of the Hermes Oran sandals. In particular, it can be tough to buy designer shoes. Based on my own experience, these sandals, the Gucci loafers and mules (this post is one of my top posts of all time), and the Chanel ballet flats are ones that I will always recommend if you’re looking to treat yourself. These are without doubt my indulgence shoes that I wear ALL. OF. THE. TIME.
Hermes Oran Sandals Review
While researching the Oran and its history for a review of this sandal, I realized that they have become quite famous in relation to their release in 1997 and their continuous existence up to date, which means they will never leave fashion at any given moment. How beautiful could this be? Let me just say: Yes, they are worth it because I must not lie anymore on this; mine were, however, given as a gift for my birthday from Rob in the actual sense, but I am already thinking about another color because I really do love these!
How do the Hermes Oran Sandals run?
I was quite glad that I finally ventured to Madison Avenue mall and tried them on. I’m usually a size six/thirty-six in everything, but I decided to also try on the pair half a size smaller as well as the one half a size larger shoes or sandals, just in case. I ended up going with my normal size, though. If you fall between sizes, go up by half a size. For those with wider foot, be sure to go for a half- or full-size up.
Are the Hermes Oran sandals worth it?
They are definitely a splurge. The Oran classic is $760 (as of May 2024; mine cost $700 in white back in 2022). Whenever spring and summer come around, these are what I am usually reaching for. So personally speaking, the cost per wear by the end of summer is very low. And frankly, it can even last me through September.
Are they comfortable?
If you can afford these shoes and want to give yourself something nice, then yes, absolutely, they are worth it. You may read this post here to gain more insight into how buying designer items goes for me. Just don’t buy them if they’re not within your budget! However, let’s say you’re contemplating purchasing Hermes Oran sandals. Although they are such a seasonal shoe, they will never really become outdated. These are not just any trendy sandals either, and after seeing my sister’s pair of shoes and some friends still looking so great, this is not fast fashion at all.
Which color?
There are MANY variations of the Hermes Oran sandals—fabrics, colors, etc. I would suggest one of these colors for your first pair: White, Black, or Cognac (“gold” on site). My choice was White because I did not have an ordinary white sandal—well, actually hadn’t had any white sandals. Therefore, this year I decided to buy a gold-colored one since there was no gold in my closet at all. However, you can never go wrong with either of those three neutral colors—it all depends on your own closet!
Where can I buy Hermes Oran sandals?
I got mine from the Hermes store on Madison Ave., but they can also be bought online from the Hermes website. Also, I think their shipping is pretty fast (a few business days) if you’re already feeling confident about your size. If you’re looking to purchase secondhand, I recommend Fashion Phile!
Any similar looks for less?
Hermes Orans are so popular that many brands have made knockoffs of them—many of them even look almost identical. Moreover, everyone should be able to find something they love and afford! So I just picked these up off Amazon because another new pair is not really something I am ready to splurge on just yet. They definitely look a lot alike; what makes them different for me is the soles: rubber and a touch thicker than the Orans’. These especially run big, so I went down to a 5. Now as to how long these will last me quality-wise, it remains uncertain, though so far things seem good! Additionally, I’ve heard nice things about this brand.
Ultimately, I still believe that the Hermes Oran Sandals are a great designer investment. For someone who wants to spoil herself or anyone seeking out a new wardrobe essential, these shoes deserve all the excitement they get.
