Quince Clothing Review 2024
I enjoy good staples, and I especially love well-done basics. And better still if you can get these for much less, so I keep looking out for new brands that will beat my old favourites. Thus, when I came across Quince, I knew that sooner rather than later, my closet would be filled with some of their basic items. Therefore, to have a proper understanding of this brand, I bought several items from their silk collection as well as the knitwear and accessories sections of their site. And this is why today will be all about the Quince clothing review.
SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
Since satisfying shopping experiences always draw customers, that is the first item on my list. The website itself, how easy it is to buy from them online, and how they handle deliveries all play a role in determining whether one will be a repeat customer (assuming they like the product).
None of my orders were wrong, and the website was also not difficult to navigate through. However, most items that I liked were already sold out, except for one size. Moreover, many reviews claim the same thing too. Small sizes sell out fast, so when you see something you like, buy it before someone else does. At least they offer free returns.
Both times, when I placed an order, each item shipped separately. For me as an international shopper, getting any Quince things means using mail-forwarding, which caused delays as well as added to consolidation fees too. No big deal, but worth noting so far. It ships relatively quickly, plus, apart from being late once, all of mine got delivered within 1 week after buying them.
Overall, this was no different, although maybe if only there website could be more easily navigable than it currently is. When it comes to brands with “limited” inventory, where they have only a few lines at any given time, in such cases, I prefer seeing everything as opposed to going through certain categories step by step. Now I am just waiting for them to start shipping internationally so that it is easier to get a Quince clothing review.
KNITWEAR
Quince: $50 Mongolian Cashmere Crew
To begin this Quince clothing review, let me take you through one of their bestsellers, the 50-dollar Mongolian Cashmere Crew. This is a basic item that many people have in their wardrobes and also happens to be expensive. I was anxious to see how it compared with other cashmere sweaters I own.
First impressions? It is smooth, but not necessarily as soft as my Everlane, Uniqlo, Mott & Bow, Naadam, or J.Crew’s cashmere crews. The fit is good enough. In contrast, somebody with an elongated body like me would appreciate its long size in the middle section.
Its sleeves are on the longer side of the spectrum. Perhaps you will notice in the pictures that there is some excess material gathered up around my wrists. This does not bother me, but it could play a part if you are petite. It has average thickness and feels similar to other cashmere sweaters I own. I am wearing size S here, and it’s your regular relaxed fit.
Summarily, it is not bad at all for such a purchase. While they are not as soft as my other cashmere knits, this $50 (USD) price makes up for everything else. Moreover, these pieces of knitwear get softer after several washes, so I would no longer consider this factor over time. They still surprised me by pricing it that way when they did. It would be wise to acquire this item of clothing if you are searching for a timeless cashmere piece of Quince clothing.
Quince Australian Merino Oversized Cardigan
I particularly loved this oversized cardigan. I like them slouchy and cosy—anything that is great to wear during the transitional periods of the year. It’s made from Australian Merino wool with a cotton blend, giving it a thick, weighty feel without being too fragile. But warm.
My favourite part is the cinch at the wrist. This bell or balloon shape makes an otherwise simple classic more interesting. There are also two large pockets on each side in front. Perfect for sliding your phone, lip balm, or even your hands if it’s a bit chilly.
I’m wearing this in size S and would say it fits true to size as intended—a relaxed fit. If you wanted something just slightly smaller, you could easily go down one size. The quality was amazing and surpassed my expectations by far.
SILK
Quince Premium Washable Silk Tank
Since I have already chosen this for my online shopping, silk tanks are a good choice for workwear basics, assuming they can make it past your work’s dress code. The first thing that I ever added to my cart was this black one. It’s a great tank top, if you ask me, and it is plain, does what it says on the tin, and is also not so expensive as to distract my eyes.
I would put on the size S shown above and say it’s true to size (for a relaxed fit). However, being black, this is off no matter how many times we try to double-line it. However, its sheen is rather dull compared with the washable stretch silk (see below) that shines out from the price of 39.90 dollars stamped on it. It may not be as nice as those from Everlane that used to be, but at least this one comes with engineered-in handwashing requirements; hence, no dry cleaning is necessary for silk clothes like these ones in the Quince clothing review.
Quince Washable Stretch Silk Cami
Before pregnancy, I often wore a silk cami top during the summer. Now, however, my kids are no longer giving me enough reasons to wear them unless I want to be in trouble with their dirty little hands. That is why it wouldn’t surprise me that a washable silk cami would attract me. Another thing? It is made of stretch silk satin; that’s what I found fascinating.
My first impression was that it was nothing compared to my Grana favourite silk camisoles. These ones have two layers and are made of washed silk plush, while the Quince one is not lined at all and has a slightly shiny look. Frankly speaking, this is not my best-liked item here. From the reviews on the site, there may be two layers for lighter colours; they’d be modest!
I bought in size S, which was as always an okay fit for me, being a good relaxed style. The chest does not pull, but after checking it out, there is even some elasticity, if ever required. Something else also: the straps can be adjusted, and while fastening feels kind of cheap, I do like being able to make them shorter if necessary in an instant.
Quince Washable Stretch Silk Dress
The cami is made of a similar silk material as Quince’s washable stretch silk dress. Nonetheless, the colour difference rather than anything else gives it the impression of being more luxurious. It does have the same adjustable straps. Unlike the cami, there is a zip closure down the back and double lining at the bust for this dress.
It has a zip on the back and it is also lined with cotton at the top section, which includes adjustable straps, just like in the case of camisole. The sides are cut open at the bottom for one design aspect. I feel that such a piece feels somewhat more sinuous because of its vertical slits. Once again, there is also some sheen to it.
Actually, this brand new slip dress made from silk was great to replace an old style that I stopped wearing long time ago. Moreover, I am wearing size S here and it’s loose all over my body without clinging anywhere . Even though there is enough space in front, it doesn’t look very wide or too square-shaped That means I can put on a thin knit underneath when winter comes around so as to keep warm.
ACCESSORIES
Quince Italian Leather Crossbody Bag
I added to my cart an Italian leather crossbody bag by Quince recently. Currently, I like wearing mostly crossbodies and those that are small enough to hold my essentials. It appeared to be right for me, and it was amazing how cheap it was. Additionally, a good example of such is the “stamped” mock croc leather, ideal for adding texture to simple outfits.
For the past two weeks, all I have been using is this bag, and I have some serious opinions on the same. First things first, I must say that the quality you get from this bag in terms of durability far surpasses its actual price tag. The inside is done with cotton canvas, which is tough and heavy; moreover, even though the embossed calf leather isn’t as good as that on my old Cuyana, it’s almost there.
The only thing about it is that it has pale gold hardware on the other side. It seems weightless as well as being a bit cheap, but then again, this last feature hardly seems significant; in fact, such stuff does not bother me so much, at least not a little bit anyway, because of its size and lightness, like these two things: zip closure slides smoothly across without resistance while closing or opening it up on either side, and secondly, oh gosh, yes, this is a functional piece of Quince clothing review.
Strap
What don’t I like? Strap! It’s semi-adjustable; you can add or subtract a slight length using two poppers. Note, however, that I am relatively tall given my height, i.e., 172 cm; hence, I found the strap too long because it hangs around the lower half of my bum/hip when I just prefer to sit slightly above the hip bone. This is easily replaceable with a shorter option already in your wardrobe because it is black and has smooth leather straps.
Except for those few words (the previous sentence), others showed us how valuable she bought along with another garment, a $50 Cashmere Crew, which according to me is worth a second look. Also, I’ve heard good things about the pebbled leather version.
