DISSH Clothing Review 2023: What to buy and what to skip
Why not? Their minimal designs in neutral shades with a little flair are just perfect for me. Basics that are not dull. Having already mentally shortlisted several things from the store, I decided to add them to my cart and see what they really looked like. Here is a full try-on of DISSH clothes as well as a review discussing sizing, quality, and if these items are worth putting into the cart. You can find my dISSH clothing review for any of these items at the end of this blog post.
Cass white linen asymmetric midi dress
Ever since it showed up on DISSH’s style page, I’ve been meaning to get it onto my shopping list. It comes in two lengths: midi and mini. I think the knee length looks more formal, though. With the white version, you could wear it the next day after your wedding ceremony during brunch together with simple strappy sandals or hens night out teamed with heels. Both straps have been seen resting on shoulders before, but doing this is more inconvenient than otherwise comfortable.
So when you move them around, since the waistband runs straight across your body, it gets pulled up diagonally too far upwards or downwards every time you play around with their positioning. This is also true for someone who continuously adjusts one’s clothes without any proper reason. What about that way, which keeps falling down even if it feels weird going to rest upon our body? While cinching you in at the waistline, this has volume on top due to its back being elasticated. This is indeed very pretty. It fits true to size. add in the ISSH clothing review in 2023
Monique black long-sleeve knit top
If the top had cutouts, it would not be appealing at all, but there was something about the Monique top that got my mind racing. Also, it is easy to wear. Moreover, the positioning of the fabric below the breasts hides the bra band nicely, making it bra-friendly too.
The blend consists of viscose and nylon in a very compact, textured knit with ribbing. Skin-tight and molded against your figure. To make this outfit interesting, you could wear a fitted tank under it in an off-color or print for a peek-a-boo effect. However, I love this one, though I think that it is expensive compared to other tops they have on sale. It fits true to size.
Brooklyn black/stone stripe jumper
I chose to write about this jumper as an alternative to my Toteme striped knitwear piece because of its fabric feel, which had not been mentioned before. Someone like me who wants to touch and feel everything first before buying synthetic blend knitwear can sometimes put me off purchasing them altogether because they usually disappoint me by not being soft enough when worn directly on skin.
This is oversize, i.e., oversized! Apart from being loose through body fit, it’s also longer. It might suit taller girls better; if you’re short, then you may find it overwhelming for your frame. But softer, unlike Jenni Kayne’s boucle type of texture out there, it has a bouncy sort of feeling against my palms—smooth but malleable. It’s made up of more than eighty percent synthetic materials; hence, whatever happens after washing, nobody knows, although let’s be honest. I don’t actually like this one that much. Goldie natural long-sleeve top
To start with, DISSH does elevated basics well; what I mean by elevated basics would be that their “simple” tops have good cuts and interesting visual textures. As such, I added Goldie long sleeve as a neutral alternative for Baserange top into cart volume 0:00 The boat-style neckline and exaggerated sleeve length, plus the wide ribbed knit on this one, are things I loved. Initially, I thought that this would fit closely to my body with its form-fitting design but the material is a bit loose. This gives a slim but relaxed fit.
Furthermore, it’s somewhat see-through, even if someone has skin-colored underwear on. It feels more like an earthen raw material; it is pliable but not silky smooth. Before looking at the label, I was convinced that this had to be made of hemp. It is made of acrylic linen and tencel, although before seeing the composition, I strongly believed this was a hemp blend. To me though, it’s just “okay,” and besides this, they have better versions of long-sleeve fitted knit tops in their brand collection for sale, and since there is acrylic in them, I vetoed buying them or recommending anyone else to do so too. Aiden’s off-white muscle tank
Perhaps shoulder pad tanks had their moment at some point, but I think this signature cut is another way to interpret the sleeveless singlet. The Aiden muscle tank is fully opaque, which adds to the clean nature of the silhouette. I love that this means the shoulder pad detail isn’t visible when worn. One of the best ways to wear this? Under a slim-fitting knit.
It’s a simple way to add structure and make an older piece in your closet feel new again. This 100% cotton has such a thin, drapey quality that feels elegant against your skin and it’s one of my favorite basics ever.
Nile bone-rouched strapless top
A formal strapless top like this wasn’t on my list of must-haves, but I was curious to see how it looked paired with the matching skirt. This girl loves a set. The fabrication for both pieces is the same, so let’s chat about that here. It’s a poly/rayon/spandex-mixed fabric. Although it doesn’t stretch, it has some give in it.
I think there are some pictures that show off its stretchiness well because they fold into small rectangles, or you can just look at them from different angles, like this one below, where all four corners touch each other, creating an irregular triangle shape with no sides equal length—just two longer ones than others—and finally, there is even more space between lines & shapes if any part overlaps slightly, causing spaces within those regions too. Well I liked the ruched detail across front I thought added depth or layering visually to it? Sizing:
True to size with room for those who aren’t especially busty; the band across the top seam holds firmly against the body while the zipper sticks sometimes, making it necessary to unzip the entire garment before stepping out, completely leaving nothing behind upon exit except maybe a pair shoes hanging loosely around the neck as an accessory. And you might not realize until then how much pressure was being exerted by clothes themselves until later you do something like sit down right where everything started slipping off. It’s cute if you’re looking for a more formal strapless top.
Nile bone-rouched skirt
Then I wanted something that would match the strapless top; enter the Nile-rouched skirt. I really like this bone colour; it’s creamy but doesn’t pull yellow or pink. Has more of a grey undertone to it. I thought this was a nice piece, but the fit on it was a little odd for me. We went with my usual size AU8 and felt the waist fit on the large side, while the hips were just right. I wouldn’t consider sizing down. And also, I think it would be a tricky one to alter because of the folded pleat detail. You can see it has a flat front and an elasticated band at the back waist.
The key detail that appealed was ruching across the hips. Creating visual interest in this A-line shape dress, and when paired with a strapless top, ruching gives me a beautiful hourglass effect that feels well proportioned… I also love how there’s an asymmetric side slit detail, which makes it look like it moves while you walk rather than staying put like most skirts do (even though they sometimes don’t).
Rowan bone signature blazer
The DISSH Rowan bone signature blazer finishes off the look. Another piece that I’ve wanted to try on. And, I think, one of the best versions of a relaxed boyfriend-style blazer. It just feels eased out, with room throughout the body but not oversized in that exaggerated Frankie Shop way.
If you’re small, I’d say at least have your sleeves taken up; possibly even if you want to take control of how it fits, you should shorten it some more. I just wish there were no tortoiseshell buttons here. They seem a bit odd for such an item, in my opinion, because this is made from a more suitable material.Stick with your regular size for a loose fit.
Leilani black linen mini dress
Apart from their suits, DISSH is most famous for its dresses. In particular, linen dresses are associated with them. “Leilani” is another one of their style stories and comes in both mini and midi length options too. Choosing the mini over the midi felt like going for something cute and playful for summer, with that little twist and cut-out detail at the waist.
cutoutsOn the whole, this has really nice quality, but my figure does not say so much about it. Instead, making my waist look broader rather than smaller, as I’d been anticipating, instead of making my waist narrower than usual, as it seemed from its photos online, makes me look wider-waisted. I would choose midi length next time if I were placing this order again. It’s got a bit more impact, according to me, while also maintaining balance between cut outs and modesty in terms of length.
Sienna white knit tank
This is among the tops that I got from DISSH few weeks ago—purchased by me personally! Plisse knit which was pleated and finished at high neck, attracted me when selecting this top, especially because when worn underneath sweaters as base layers, their upper part can be glimpsed at top of neck. It is a viscose and nylon blend with a form-fitting but stretchy feel.
Really good option for the office under a blazer, and quite thick. This white isn’t see-through at all; it’s fully opaque. An absolute win; even great value for money. I would choose the Sienna knits over the Harper any day. My delicate Harper one has pulled despite me taking huge care when wearing it. Go for your regular size in the Sienna tank.
Atwood black tank
baselayer,This was one of several that I purchased to wear as an essential baselayer and I can say this is really. True to its name, it might be my favourite among those items listed here! True to size for a slim/snug fit that hugs your body’s curves nicely too. Slightly cropped length and thinner fabric make it perfect for tucking into skirts or pants (especially in summer).
The fabric blend consists of cotton and viscose. Which is somewhat uncharacteristic of me because usually. I buy things like this made from 100% cotton when needed as a staple wardrobe item. However, what viscose gives to fabric is not only silky feel but also slight sheen, as well as being on thin side. Due to its combination with other materials used during manufacturing process, such adding some silkiness,. And I’m happy that, after washing it, it looks brand new again. I would buy it again, or another color.Additionally, it does not cost much either.
Rowan black pant
Perfect trousers. When it comes to fitting, at least. To me, the Rowan pant is a DISSH icon for sure. The Rowan collection and this piece are inseparable in my mind. These feel very light and cool because they are made of the same poly/rayon/spandex blend as the Nile top and skirt. The fabric is soft and spongy, thus giving them a good drape.
They hang beautifully for wide-leg trousers with not too much material on them. It’s actually recommended for those. Who are petite but still want to look like this without feeling as though they have been eaten up by cloth materials. The fit is right to size, with a little space around the waist. Either way, you can wear the pants or belt them up if you want to do so. They seem to pick up fluff quite easily, though. Which I don’t like about them at all, as they may end up looking untidy. Instead, go for the bone color if you must choose between these two colours.
Layla black silk midi skirt
Perhaps one of my best buys from DISSH that I own would be the Layla silk skirt. Which really flies under the radar as far as I’m concerned and goes unmentioned by many people yet it’s such an amazing item in my closet 100% washed silk, this quality feels just like an offering from Marle that I tried but is less expensive than Marle’s similar-style product line.
an elasticatedThis skirt moves well too! Fastening it with an elasticated waistband enables its stable positioning at the hip bones. Which also makes it an ideal maternity wear piece. It is also meant to raise fashion standards among pregnant women. Who love classy dressing. Stick with your usual size again. On the other hand, true maxi length is readily adopted.
Harley charcoal wool blend pant
I bought these Harley pants when I needed something else after another pair of grey wool trousers were damaged. These deliver, plus more. They’re great for movement around the legs while being cinched at the waist. It only works on girls. Who are 5’6” and above, as the pants are very wide around the leg. I especially love the wide belt loops, even though it’s a minor detail. They are a combination of poly, viscose, wool, and elastane, but the hand feel is very slight in texture, but in a smooth full sense rather than roughness.
These will keep you really warm since they’re more like medium-weight fabrics, but you can also put on heat tech underneath them easily if need be.They’re also so long! I’m going to give mine for alterations this week to take off enough from the bottom. So that I can wear them with sneakers or flat boots. I have already stated before that these pants are ideal for tall girls. They seem to be good value because they hold up well too, and my pair is still fine after washing.
